Start-upCOSFAR was officially established on November 28, 2003. It is a diversified joint-stock company jointly established by COSCO XIAMEN and Zhejiang Sifang Group. Firstly operating freight forwarding business, and coordinating with COSCO XIAMEN to exploit shipper market.
2006
Strategic restructuringIn order to improve market competitive power and expand the business scale of company, we changed into a private enterprise through strategic transformation. In the same year, we participated in the restructuring of Lianyungang state-owned shipping company and established LIANYUNGANG COSFAR SHIPPING INTERNATIONAL CO., LTD. At the same time, we bare-chartered in three vessels of 20,000mts for multi-purpose general cargo, and officially commenced to operate the Far East-Central and South America bulk general cargo liner routes as an owner.
2008
Business extendingObtained the shipping enterprise qualification issued by the Ministry of Transport of China, and had passed ISO9001 quality management system certification. Acquired the ship management qualification certificate DOC issued by the Maritime Safety Administration of China, and started the ship management business.
2010
Exploit new marketPurchased one bulk carriers of 30,000 mts and began to enter the SE Asia bulk and general cargo transportation market to further expand COSFAR market influence.
2012
Service upgradeUnder the National Strategy of “Bring in”and “Going out”, we transformed and upgraded the traditional freight forwarding business such as general cargo and containers, and gone into full process logistics service of overseas engineering projects.
2014
Belt and Road, we are in actionIn response to the National “One Belt,One Road” grand strategy, we established branches or representative offices in major shipping market in SE Asia such as Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Myanmar, and actively develop overseas customers and the third-party market business.
2018
Diversified businessPurchase one product oil tanker of 24000 mts, and put her into the Singapore-Myanmar route operation, in order to achieve the diversified development of the company’s business and improve the anti-risks ability in shipping market.
2021
Fleet expansionWith the continuous development of dry bulk cargo business, we purchased two new bulk timber vessels of 30,000 mts, and continued to renew and expand our fleet, in order to provide customers with enough transport capacity.
2023
